Modula Milano chooses the American brand Cordura for its 1st modular backpack
The backpack features a minimalist design, clean and elegant lines, as well as a reliable and durable modular system for those who are always on the move. Featuring durable, strong and soft-touch 500D and 1000D Cordura Classic fabrics, the award-winning Milano System is a modular backpack, offering a one-stop solution for all parts of the day, the companies said in a joint press release.
Modula Milano is a Milanese start-up born in 2019, which today produces modular backpacks and accessories for urban nomads around the world. The Milano System was launched on Kickstarter in May 2021 to provide an ultra-versatile and modular backpack, combining the features most demanded in the market with an Italian aesthetic and carefully selected materials.
Cordura was selected by Modula Milano as an ingredient brand to create the first modular, one-click adaptable backpack. Designed to meet the lifestyle of today’s urban nomadic crossovers and last a lifetime, the system won the “Golden A” Design Award in the Fashion and Travel Accessories Design category by the International Design Academy.
The Milano system will adapt to different daily activities with a single click; by combining different modules, which can be easily attached and detached from the base pack. This operation is very simple, thanks to the innovative hooks and magnetic closures of Fidlock.
Cindy McNaull, Director of Business Development for Invista’s Cordura brand said, âRecently, we have identified the emerging cross-lifestyle trend where consumers are looking for clothes, bags and backpacks that they can use for work and play.
âTraditional boundaries are changing – our customers draw inspiration for their products from a wide variety of markets such as outerwear and cycling gear. Combining work from home, travel and exercise is the new reality. We apply our knowledge of sustainable fiber and fabric technologies to help shape and define the sports and fashion bags, backpacks and apparel of tomorrow. “
Dario Ruggeri, CEO of Modula Milano added: âOur performance backpacks with Cordura Classic fabric technology are perfect for any situation; allowing you to free your cosmopolitan soul and live fully each day. A backpack to offer unlimited possibilities.
Durability is the key strength of standard military materials, being water repellent and offering excellent resistance to tears, scratches and abrasions for a product that lasts a lifetime.
Cindy continued, âSustainability begins with products that last. Always durable, always tough, Cordura Classic fabrics help deliver enhanced protective performance no matter what the environment – whether it’s the urban jungle, the construction site, the morning commute or the summit of a mountain. Trend indicators suggest that after the pandemic, consumers have increased awareness of the value of protection. They are also increasingly drawn to timeless products that make them safer, more comfortable and in control. Durability and reliability are more important than ever.
Alex Feriotto, chief designer of Modula Milano said: âFor us, the careful selection of all suppliers and industrial sites is essential. It is the result of targeted research and quality controls respecting our code of ethics. In addition, by choosing only European suppliers and Italian factories, we are committed to always having a lower impact and therefore to be more sustainable also at the social level. “
Made in Italy, durable and performance materials have been selected to create a backpack with a reduced impact on the environment, especially in the long term. Thanks to its modularity, Milano System allows continuous customization, according to the press release. This feature makes it a life companion with an evergreen design. But producing high quality products that last a lifetime is not easy. It is a path that requires small steps towards true sustainability: a modular product that lasts forever.
âThe future of fashion is really tilting towards the incorporation of performance attributes, both overt and hidden. Streetwear and lifestyle brands such as Modula Milano are inspired by the outdoors. The ingredient brand serves as a product differentiator and strengthens fairness among modern consumers who value sustainability, âcontinues Cindy. âFor the Cordura brand, the future of innovation is collaboration. Teaming up with innovative brands is a gateway to avant-garde design and the fusion of high-performance technologies in the bags, backpacks and clothing of tomorrow.
âWe pay great attention to the design phase and the stylistic idea behind the products; we want to offer exceptional functionality, durability, comfort and a timeless design. We don’t believe in short-term trends; we believe in a function-oriented design that will stand the test of time and last for more than a season, âconcluded Feriotto.
