Masked Dancer fans ‘expose’ Flamingo as Maya Jama after ‘obvious’ clue
Masked Dancer fans felt they were able to “expose” Flamingo for a few minutes as Maya Jama after what they saw as an “obvious” clue.
The leggy and sleek Flamingo showed off his moves on stage and earlier teased his true identity in a set of clues.
“Hey girls, showbiz reporter at your company. I’m here tonight to find showbiz’s biggest secret,” she teased. “We flamingos love the latest fashion trends.”
Another clue saw her looking at an invitation between “farmer and groom.”
But Judge Mo Gilligan also picked up on his reference to “pajamas” and added, “If you take the pa, it’s Maya Jama.”
Many fans agreed and took to Twitter to comment.
One of them tweeted: “Flamingo is maya jama”.
While another commented: “Flamingo is defos maya jama #TheMaskedDancer. ”
A third wrote: “I think the flamingo is @MayaJama #TheMaskedDancer.”
But others felt that there was also an allusion to Brendan Cole, which led them to think it could be Lisa Snowdon …
Tonight, the remaining six characters faced off on the dance floor in hopes of winning over the judges and viewers.
Alongside Flamingo, the new faces hoping for fame were Beagle, Squirrel, Carwash, Frog, and Rubber Chicken.
It comes after Viper became the first character to be unmasked on Saturday night after losing to Beetroot and Knickerbocker Glory in the final three.
Zip, Llama and Scarecrow made it safe to the next round, however, and fans were stunned when diversity star Jordan Banjo was revealed to be behind the forked tongue.
After being unmasked, Jordan joked, “This whole experience was worth calling Anthony Joshua.”
Speaking about the reason for his participation, Jordan said: “After the year has passed, we all need to have fun!”
Admitting that he found it “super difficult” to keep it a secret, he also added about leaving the competition at this point: “Part of me was gutted but also relieved!”
It comes after the masked singer turned out to be a huge audience success for ITV, with Sausage winning in February this year, breaking records.
The second series finale peaked at 10.6 million, with an average of 8.6 million listeners to watch the show – which was up 2.2 million from the last series in 2020.
Sausage managed to beat Badger and Robin to secure the crown and was unmasked as lead singer Joss Stone, leaving the judges speechless.
Meanwhile, Badger was exposed as singer-songwriter Ne-Yo and Robin as JLS star Aston Merrygold.
After the ratings were released, ITV CEO Kevin Lygo said at the time, “In these testing times, we are delighted that The Masked Singer has brought escape joy and slight relief to so many. of viewers at home.
“At the end of a long week in lockdown, we all get together and try to guess who is dressed in giant sausage, and frankly, that has been a brilliantly entertaining tonic.
