Whether we admit it or not, we are obsessed with our hair. Whether it’s trying out every new product on the market or just playing around with the hairstyles, there is nothing we haven’t tried to do to make our hair look beautiful and fabulous. While the ombre trend has hit the market in all its glory, a new trend has been making waves across the world and girls are obsessed with it everywhere. As we started to shape our faces, courtesy of Kim Kardashian, but now you can shape your hair as well.
And when that fad ended, we tried everything else that is becoming a streaky French balayage trend. But in wanting to stay on top of our hairstyles and fashion trends, we often forget about the mistakes we make with our mane that has given us dry ends, split ends, dandruff, flakes, oily scalp, a premature aging among others.
But don’t worry too much about it. We’ve listed some hair care mistakes you shouldn’t make if you want a fuller mane too.
- If you’ve just dyed your hair, don’t oil it for the next couple of months.
- Always use a protective hair spray before using a straightener
- Use a leave-in conditioner once a week
- For treated hair, do a hair spa once a month
- Always tie your hair in a loose braid while you sleep
- Use methi water (in a spray bottle) before washing your hair
- Make sure you’re getting vitamin B12
Here are a few things you can do for a little more TLC:

Go for this hydrating hair mask to give your scalp extra nutrients. For this mask you need a teaspoon of honey, an egg and a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. Mix the ingredients in a bowl and apply it on the scalp and strands. Wash your hair after 30 minutes with a mild shampoo.

If you have dandruff or a dry scalp, you need coconut oil which helps moisturize the skin and acts as a scalp scrub. It will remove dry flakes while cleaning it and balancing oil production. For this mask you need 2 tablespoons of unrefined raw coconut oil, 4 teaspoons of raw sugar, 5 drops of peppermint oil, 2 drops of tea tree oil . Leave the mask in your hair for half an hour and rinse it off with a mild shampoo.

This mask contains vitamins A and C as well as zinc, beta-carotene and potassium. It stimulates hair growth and keeps the hair healthy and shiny. For this you need a cup of pumpkin puree with 2 tablespoons of honey. Apply the mixture to the scalp and let sit for 30 to 40 minutes.
