French fashion brand Lacoste presents the Underwater NFT collection

Looking for an amazing “drip”? The French clothing brand Lacoste has been around since 1933 and has left its mark not only in fashion, but also in sports. Founded by tennis player René Lacoste, the clothing line is now entering the metaverse, where NFT enthusiasts and tech-savvy people can finally mingle with the friendly crocodile.

Members of the Underwater Family, what if your first mission after the Mint was to… Contribute to the process of creating the PFP for the Crocodile Family. Exciting right Let’s wait for the next update. #UNDW3 #CROCGMI pic.twitter.com/145Leh2Iml

Lacoste Discord Server launched earlier this month

Although the current circumstances in the crypto market may somewhat hamper new NFT projects, Lacoste has decided that the time has come to enter the futuristic world of Web 3.0. Just over a week ago, Lacoste launched its official Discord channel, receiving over 30,000 members in the first 48 hours. Now, the Lacoste crocodile is ready to give the green light to innovation.

11,212 collectibles marking the legendary polo shirt

The NFT Underwater Collection, stylized as “UNDW3”, refers to the branded polo shorts, called “L1212”. The classic polo shirt design was invented by Lacoste and is among the brand’s finest garments to date. The floor price of the Drippy NFT collection starts at 0.08 ETH, or around $89. The stylish NFTs feature the image of a crocodile with glowing ocean blue eyes that will no doubt help fans create their NFTs. “It all starts with a crocodile…”, explains the home page of Lacoste’s UNDW3.

One thing that separates UNDW3 from other fashion-related NFT collections is that each NFT owner will be able to collaborate with Lacoste to co-design new garments. “Collectors will be able to access a pioneering ecosystem and digital, physical and experiential advantages in the world of the crocodile, such as products co-created exclusively for them,” the official blog points out.

Previously, Lacoste partnered with Minecraft to present “Croco Island”, which is “halfway between the virtual and the real”. However, Lacoste now thinks it’s time to bridge the gap between its digital fans and the brand’s loyal customers in the real world.

To conclude, it seems that Lacoste has long-term plans in the Web 3.0 space and has prepared a long list of benefits for UNDW3 NFT holders. In order to hit an NFT with the suave crocodile, one needs to participate in a raffle every day at 12:12 CET, and, of course, a full set of experiences will be unlocked once the number of NFTs minted reaches 11212. This being said, it is likely that the friendly Lacoste crocodile will return later.
